What is an inspection series?
When a regulation is added to a locality, an inspection series is automatically created that includes all assets the system determines need that regulation for maintenance. Inspections are always planned within a series, whether it is the default series or a custom one.
Assets that you want to plan together while excluding other assets can be removed from the default series and placed in a custom series. Those assets are always planned together, and no other assets are added to the generated inspection.
Where can I find inspection series?
In the Preventive maintenance module, open the Regulations section. It lists all regulations available for localities. You can also add more regulations to a locality or remove regulations from a locality. This lets you control which regulations should be active in a given locality. You can have multiple sets of regulations that differ and then enable only the regulations that should be active in a locality.
If you click a row in the list, you open the regulation detail for that locality. Individual series are listed here.
How do I add a custom series?
Open the regulation detail in the locality. See Where can I find inspection series?
Clicking the "plus" icon next to the series list opens a dialog that prompts you to name the new series.
In this case, I want to separate gas boilers and plan them independently, so I enter a name and confirm. The new series is now added to the list.
Clicking the series name opens the series detail. Here you can "move" assets that are available in other series. Just click the "plus" icon and select those assets in the list.
Select the gas boiler assets and confirm. The assets are removed from the default series and added to the new series.
When you later open the generated inspection, you can see that only these 2 assets are included.
