Inspection planning settings
Merge inspections within a series
Defines the condition for merging within an inspection series. Learn more in What is an inspection series? If I have 2 inspections with the same inspection type whose dates differ by less than 31 days, the system merges them into one.
Example:
We have 3 inspections with due dates of November 1, November 15, and November 30. The setting is to merge within 20 days. The system evaluates inspections sequentially from the commissioning date and merges them step by step. In other words, the inspections on November 1 and November 15 are processed first and merged into one with a due date of November 1. The November 30 inspection remains unchanged.
Merge inspections for a single asset
This case is less common. It applies when one inspection type satisfies multiple inspection types. In that case, the time window for merging inspections is extended for a single asset. You can leave the default setting.
Send notifications before upcoming inspections
This setting defines the time interval between a reminder for an upcoming inspection and the inspection due date.
In this case, notifications are sent 14 days before the inspection due date.
Schedule inspections ahead of the latest date
This setting defines how far in advance an inspection should be scheduled before the latest date for completing the inspection. You can leave the default setting.
Do not schedule inspections on weekends and public holidays
With this option, inspections are scheduled outside non-working days. You need to select a country to configure the public holiday calendar.
How far ahead to predict inspections
You can set how far into the future inspections should be planned.
Other inspection settings
Default work request type created from inspections
Defines the default work request type used when reporting defects from inspections.
Default folder for saving inspection reports
Defines the default folder in Documents where inspection reports are saved. To make documents easier to navigate, you can use variables that automatically create the folder structure.
You can use variables for locality name, regulation domain, and year (i.e. Electrical equipment, HVAC, Fire safety equipment, Gas equipment, Flue gas paths, Mechanical equipment, Pressure equipment, Elevators, Lifting equipment).
To make variables easier to use, you can drag them from the list below the path field.
Example:
The default path is set to /Inspections/$(LOCALITY)/$(REGULATION_DOMAIN). After completing the Pressure test TNS inspection in the Prague locality, the inspection report is saved to the folder Inspections/Prague/Pressure equipment.
Show inspections as work orders if the latest date is within (days)
This setting defines which inspections should appear as work orders. It sets a time horizon. In other words, inspections with a due date less than 30 days from today are shown as work orders. Those inspections also appear in the Work orders overview.

Planning a preventive maintenance inspection
Based on regulations and recorded asset attributes, the application predicts when individual inspections will occur. The inspection date is calculated from the regulation period and
What is an inspection series?
When a regulation is added to a locality, an inspection series is automatically created that includes all assets the system determines need that regulation for maintenance
