What is an asset feature?
An asset feature connects different assets that share a common element. This can be achieved at the regulation level using an asset type (and its options) or by assigning the asset feature directly to an asset.
Example 1:
For the "Electrical machine check" inspection type, you need to define what an electrical machine is. Create an asset feature called "Electrical machine" and assign asset types to it:
- Sectional doors
- Compressor
- SHS pump
- with electric drive (asset type option) The pump is included only if the corresponding asset type option is checked. If the option with a diesel drive is checked, it is not an electrical machine.
Example 2:
For reserved gas equipment (VPZ), legislation defines two classes of gas equipment. So again I must create an asset feature "VPZ class II":
- Gas pipeline
- Gas regulator
- Warm-air heating unit (sahara)
- with gas burner (asset type option) Then in the inspection type I specify that assets with this asset feature should be checked once a year.
All assets that are of the given asset type, or of the asset type with the selected option filled in, have this asset feature. Asset features are then used to define inspection types.
How do I create a new inspection type?
Inspection types are organized into regulations. If you do not have a regulation yet, continue to How do I create a new regulation?
