How do I create an asset feature?
Asset features are organized into regulations. If you do not have a regulation yet, continue to How do I create a new regulation?
In the regulation form, go to the Asset features tab and click the + button.
If the regulation code is entered, the asset feature code is prefilled as well. Then fill in the required asset feature name attribute. The name should reflect the common element of the asset types that will be added next.
Some asset features are useful to display directly on assets (for example, pressure equipment class or elevator category). These asset features are marked as public.
Next, you need to define the link to asset types or asset types with options. You can choose the asset type "L - Elevators", and the asset feature will then apply to all elevators (freight and passenger), or you can choose a child asset type (L.1 or L.2).
For our example, we select L.1 Passenger elevator, but with option L.1.E, which selects only elevators without public access. The second link includes freight elevators.
The asset feature now has all required details. You can optionally add extension attributes. Common elements of assets may also imply common attributes. This can be, for example, Load capacity. You can also specify whether these attributes must be filled in when creating or editing an asset.
The new asset feature then appears in the list for the regulation.

What is an asset feature?
An asset feature connects different assets that share a common element. This can be achieved at the regulation level using an asset type (and its options) or by assigning the asset feature directly to an asset.
